Came to Atlanta in 1983 and played solo in the Highlands for 15 years.
Started the band eight years ago and hasn't stopped since
Tommy's favorite players are Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, and too
many others to mention

from Lake Superior, on the lower peninsula
At 7, had a regular seat front row center for rock and roll and bluegrass
bands playing his parents' bar
At 12, they sold it
Went to Brethren High School, where James Earl Jones graduated in
1949
Played saxophone for four years and was Drum Major
Honor Society four years
President of Senior Class
B.S. in Engineering from Ferris State, Big Rapids, Michigan
Moved to Atlanta from Michigan with the band Straw Village in 1992
Played briefly with Alice Muson in 1994
Joined Tommy Thompson Band in 1994

Moved to Atlanta in 1991
Met Tommy at Open Mic night at Dark Horse Tavern
Joined the band in 1995
Started playing Mandolin in 1995

Born and raised in Athens Georgia
Started playing drums in 1964 after seeing the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan
Show
Played drums in Clarke-Central High School Band where he marched in the
1975 Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California
Played drums in UGA Redcoat Band.. including the 1976 Cotton Bowl and
1977 Sugar Bowl parade and halftime shows
Played for four years with the Athens based rock band Azrock
Moved to Atlanta in 1980
Played with "The Bototeen" and reggae band "The Skin Kings" opening for
such acts as Peter Tosh, James Brown,U2, and many others.
Performed in Atlanta venues including The Omni, Chastain Amphitheatre,
Fox Theatre, Agora Ballroom, 688, Moonshadow Saloon and Harvest Moon
Took a break from music to pursue restaurant management career in
Atlanta
Met Tommy in Virginia Highlands
In 1998 Bill dug his Ludwig Vistalites out
of the garage
to play drums for Tommy
Lives in Atlanta with Duane the cat and Allison
